In that capacity I wrote two books with talk show host Larry King and co-authored the autobiographies of musicians Frank Zappa and Michael Feinstein. More recently, I completely revised and rewrote the manuscript of an important new book on the treatment of Arthritis by a leading sports medicine doctor at New York's Hospital for Special Surgery. I have also written several books about the varieties of American spiritual experience, based on interviews with a wide range of men and women from very different spiritual backgrounds and pursuits (Once A Catholic, Through the Labyrinth) as well as a popular guide to the World's religions (The Joy of Sects). And I have co-authored or assisted a number of writers in the spiritual field, including Caroline Myss (Why People Don't Heal, Sacred Contracts) and Ron Roth (The Healing Path of Prayer and 4 other books). Based on my varied writing experiences and my long-term working relationship with Caroline Myss and her CMED Institute in the Chicago area, I have taught courses on sacred journaling, spiritual autobiography, how to write and publish spiritual books, as well as writing for magazines. I have worked with Caroline Myss since 1996, and have collaborated with her on a deck of Healing Cards, Archetype Cards, and Sacred Contracts: The Journey for Hay House. I teach archetypal journaling and spiritual autobiography at a number of CMED workshops every year.
